Firefighters are battling a fast-spreading wildfire in Aude, southern France, after it spread from Herault and burned more than 800 hectares overnight.
Footage shows flames racing down a hillside, thick smoke billowing into the sky and aircraft and ground crews battling the blaze.
Firefighters are seen near the ‘front line’ as the operation continues.
The fire broke out in the Herault department on Wednesday afternoon before spreading rapidly to Aude, fuelled by dry conditions and strong winds.
More than 800 hectares had been burnt as of the latest update.
Crews from both departments remain at the scene as they work to slow the flames’ advance and secure the burned areas.
